Siding, trim, gutters
House Wash Services
Restores the paint on your home while removing mold and dirt stains from your siding.
Chapter 01
Mildew streaks, gutter stains and chalky paint
On a vinyl-sided house the first thing to go is the shaded wall. Green and black streaks follow the laps on the north face, under the gutters and around the vents, and every rain drives them a little further down the siding. Dirt stains collect behind downspouts and under the eaves, and paint that has gone chalky reads as faded even when nothing is wrong with the siding itself.
That is the work House Wash Services are for. Hall Son's describes it this way: it restores the paint on your home, while removing mold and dirt stains from your siding. From Fairfax to Dumfries, it is the wash we get asked about first.

Grey lap siding streaked with green mildew on the left of a curved line and washed an even blue-grey on the right
Soft wash, applied low to high and rinsed top down
A house wash is not a pressure blast. Siding gets a low-pressure soft wash: plants are wet down first, the cleaner goes on from the bottom of the wall to the top so it does not streak, and it is left to dwell long enough to do the work that a hard spray would only fake. Then the wall is rinsed from the top down, so nothing dirty runs over a panel that has already been cleaned.
Windows, vents, trim and the gutter face get rinsed on the same pass. The goal is an even blue-grey wall with no stripes where the wand stopped, which is what the siding on the left and right of the photo above shows: mildew-streaked laps on one side of a line, washed laps on the other.
Chapter 03
When the shaded wall goes green again
The reason to wash is in Hall Son's own words: increase your home's curb appeal, remove unsightly stains and extend the life of your siding. Washing off what grows on the laps is how the paint and the vinyl keep looking the way they should.
Watch the shadowed faces and the line under the gutters. When the north wall starts to turn green again, or the gutters show tiger stripes down the siding, it is time to call or text 571-336-2395. Once the siding is clean, the ground and the gutters show.
A washed wall makes a grey driveway or a leaf-packed gutter line stand out. Both are on Hall Son's list, and both can ride along on the same trip.
